The BDI program covers a range of transmission mediums essential for telecommunications infrastructure. This includes broadband, wireline, wireless, fiber optic, radio frequency, and coaxial infrastructure. These mediums facilitate internet access, wired and wireless telephone systems, 5G devices, home automation, and integrated technologies.
Broadband professionals will be instructed on what is involved in certifying the reliability of the drop for digital TV, high-speed Internet, and telephone service, as well as step-by-step installation procedures for each service. The course extensively covers the origins and benefits of DOCSIS and PacketCable technologies, exclusive to the broadband cable sector. With the rising popularity of home security and automation in broadband, it also explores the protocols fueling the connected home and its ecosystem. To enhance Digital Broadband field practice, NCTI courseware and VIPER, an in-house virtual installation center featuring 48 diverse homes, are utilized.
